Hey seniors (and 2020 grads)!  Are you looking for a job?  Are you overwhelmed by the job search process and don’t know where to start? According to Money Magazine, it takes an average of six months for college graduates to land a job. And, with May graduation only six months away, now is the perfect time to start!   

You are invited to join Winter Boot Camp, a 3-week program designed to kick start your job search.  Sign up to attend live webinars, and take advantage of one-on-one coaching appointments, curated career resources, and employer panels.

Creating Experience from No Experience:  10:00 am 

Are you lacking professional experience on your resume and don’t know how to demonstrate your job skills to future employers?  Join members of the career coaching staff to discuss how to create experience using your coursework, projects and volunteer experiences.  We will discuss how to effectively communicate your skills on a professional resume.  Be sure to download the "No Experience, No Problem" handout that we will be using during the workshop.

What Makes a Resume Stand Out:  Tips, Techniques, and Advice from Industry Experts:  3:00 pm 

Everyone seems to have an opinion regarding your resume, but what do the experts say?  Join human resource and industry professionals (those responsible for reviewing resumes and making hiring decisions) as they discuss what makes a resume stand out including style and format.  This panel also includes a Q&A session so bring all your questions.

Tips and Techniques to Create A Resume Using Microsoft Word:  10:00 am 

Frustrated with resume formatting? Considering using a template? There are many tips and tricks in Microsoft Word that make formatting easier, while making your resume stand out so you will get noticed. There’s no need to use a template if you know how to use techniques that are at your fingertips.  Join Wendy Shoemaker, UCC Program Director, who will demonstrate little known and incredibly useful Microsoft Word tips and tricks.

I Need a Break!  Exploring Gap Year Opportunities: 10:00 am  

Many students choose to take a gap year after graduation.   Whether it is to gain work experience, volunteer, earn some money for their advanced education, or travel the world, taking a gap year can reveal your strengths while confirming your career choice.   We will discuss the pros and cons of taking a gap year and provide you with helpful ideas and resources.
