The University Career Center at the University of Kansas will host its 16th annual Education Career Fair on November 4, 2015, from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. The event is open to students and professionals interested in learning more about career opportunities in PK-12 education. Candidates in all areas of PK-12 education, including elementary and secondary education, speech-language pathology, special education, school social work, physical/occupational therapy, counseling, administration and school psychology, are welcome and encouraged to attend to explore job opportunities and to network with school administrators from more than 60 school districts from Kansas and Missouri and from across the country.
A list of attending organizations will be available soon.
Whether you are just beginning your program or are a soon-to-be graduate, the Education Career Fair is an excellent opportunity to learn more about education-related careers, gain networking skills, and make contact with employers!
Attendance is free, and there is no pre-registration required for attendees. Some districts may even ask to conduct a brief screening interview with candidates who will be graduating this year. There will also be a LinkedIn photo booth on-site for you to get a complementary professional picture.
Make sure to update your KU Career Connections account, and check out the "Preparing for a career fair" video playlist before attending!
The University Career Center welcomes school districts and educational organizations to attend our Education Career Fair at KU. This is an excellent opportunity to meet education students in their final year of the teacher education program, as well as to network with second and third-year students who will be job seekers in a year or two. This is your best opportunity to sell your schools and communities to students who will soon be seeking employment!
The Education Career Fair is primarily an information fair where school districts will have the opportunity to meet and network with interested students and teacher candidates. However, if you find an exceptional student with whom you would like to visit further, there will be space available for those conversations.
We will market this event to all students admitted to the teacher education program as well as those in support areas such as social work, physical/occupational therapy, speech-language pathology, and school psychology.
Online registration will open on Wednesday, June 17th. If you have participated in an event at KU before, you may log into your account and use the profile information that you entered previously. Otherwise, click on "Proceed to Registration Form." Be sure to create a profile and include information about any known or expected vacancies in the appropriate sections so that prospective candidates have a brief overview of your district or agency and your upcoming opportunities.
