Rachel Myslivy, KU Alumni

Rachel Myslivy - KU Alumni

Climate advocate. Community builder. Filmmaker. Non-profit founder. Mother. Farmer. Melodeon player. Historian. Bee Keeper.

These are just a few of the titles describing Rachel Myslivy. Myslivy, who earned a Master's Degree in Religious Studies, a Graduate Certificate in Environmental Studies, and a BA in Religious Studies from KU, has figured out how to incorporate her passions and skills into her career. In her role as Assistant Director of the Climate + Energy Project, Myslivy facilitates conversations surrounding climate resilience, health equity, leadership, and capacity-building. Additionally, she co-founded the Kansas Women’s Environmental Network, an organization designed to connect, inspire, and empower women across the state.

Additionally, Rachel uses the oral history skills she learned at KU to capture stories of faith, ecology, and innovations in sustainable agriculture through videos she's produced for the Yale Forum on Religion and Ecology, Kansas Rural Center, and several non-profits.

Rachel uses the skills she learned in her liberal arts studies every day - looking for common ground in diverse perspectives, looking for multiple interpretations, researching difficult issues, and presenting complicated topics with the public.

Regardless of her title, Rachel is driven to make the world a better place for future generations.
