For graduate students interested in industry roles, career fairs offer a valuable opportunity to discover potential paths, learn about employers you may not have considered, and network directly with company representatives.

Here are some tips to help you get the most out of career fairs as a graduate student:

  • Learn more about the upcoming events by visiting the UCC Events page,
  • Review the list of attending employers on Handshake and identify those that align with your education and interests. Research these organizations in advance to tailor your answers and prepare thoughtful questions.
  • Practice your introduction and bring multiple copies of your resume.
  • After the career fair, send a thank-you email or a LinkedIn message to recruiters. Mention something specific from your conversation to demonstrate your interest.
