Alumni
Congratulations on your achievement of graduating from KU. At the University Career Center, we understand that career planning is a lifelong process and that you may need some assistance with your career plans from time to time. The good news is that most of the services available to KU students are also available to KU alumni. The most commonly sought after services from alumni are career advising appointments, our jobs portal on Handshake and campus career fairs.
Career Advising Appointments
Alumni appointments are available to assist with the next step in your career plans. Considering a career change? Just getting started? Need help with your resume or a big interview? Career advisors can partner with you to help you take advantage of your resources in order to take the next step. Career advisors are available by appointment and can meet with alumni via in person meetings, the phone, or by webcam using Zoom. For more information or to set up your appointment, call 785-864-3624 or email ucc@ku.edu to request an alumni request form. Career Assessments: $50 per assessment with one complimentary appointment
Handshake
Handshake is a service available to KU alumni looking to search for internships and full-time opportunities. Handshake is available to all KU alumni through the following June after your graduation date. Requests for this service are available by calling 785-864-3624, or emailing ucc@ku.edu to request an alumni request form. Please note that the KU Career services adopted Handshake July 2025. Requests to extend this service can be accommodated by emailing ucc@ku.edu.
After you complete the registration form, you will be given access for the following academic year to Handshake. Accounts are reviewed in early June and inactive accounts will be deactivated.
For those needing assistance beyond six months after graduation, one complimentary alumni appointment per calendar year is available; additional visits considered by request.
