Mackenzie Moylan - Social Work and Spanish

Mackenzie Moylan, social work and Spanish double-major, is completing her social work practicum at Scott Dual Language Magnet School, where some students’ native language is English and others’ native language is Spanish. Moylan will shadow the school’s social worker. 

“At Scott, they teach the students in both languages so everyone is on an even playing field,” Moylan said. She will assist students’ needs, carry out classroom interventions and run her own small group of fourth and fifth grade girls. 

“I was drawn to the social work profession because it allows me to make my profession address the inequalities that we see in our communities and gives me the tools to assist people in a way that promotes diversity, equity, and inclusion.”
