Appointment Information


Please read this information prior to your appointment with a University Career Center career coach.

If you are a KU student or recent alumni, please bring your KUID to your appointment with you.

Please read the information related to your corresponding appointment method:

Virtual Appointments 

If your appointment with the University Career Center is virtual, you will check-in for your appointment in HireJayhawks. We use Zoom for the web video meetings. After you make your appointment, instructions will be emailed to you. Please test your webcam and equipment prior to your appointment with our office. If you have any trouble in getting set up, please contact our office at 785-864-3624 in advance of your appointment for assistance. 

In-person  

In-person meetings will be held at the University Career Center located in 206 Summerfield Hall. Please adhere to the following protocols: 

  • Wear a facial covering that covers your nose and mouth completely. 
  • Check in at front desk in the University Career Center (Suite 206) 
  • Follow seating instructions provided to you.  
  • Ensure you practice safe social distancing (6 feet) and remain behind Plexiglass when possible. 
  • Arrive on-time. Do not arrive early or late. 
  • Your career coach will request you email any documents to them.

UCC offers 30 and 60 minute appointments. You can request either In-Person or Virtual Appointments through HireJayhawks.

Prior to your visit, please develop some questions or concerns you would like to address with your advisor. If you have not created a resume and are coming to get help starting one, please brainstorm items that you would possibly want to include in your resume and bring a list of these ideas with you to your appointment. If you have found a job posting for which you are interested in applying, please bring it also.

To get the most out of the mock interview, treat it like a real interview: dress in business attire, and bring a copy of your resume. Before the mock interview, make a list of your skills and key assets and be prepared to give examples of when you used those skills successfully in the past. Refer to the Interviewing Skills section of our website for interviewing information and sample questions. If you are doing this mock interview as part of a class assignment and need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, we require two business days notice.
