Mocktails and Mingle

Mocktails & Mingle is a premier career program in collaboration with the University Career Center and KU Alumni Association. This program introduces students to alumni and local leaders for networking and career exploration. The Mocktail topics have been curated with student pathways in mind, providing students an opportunity to connect with professionals from career industries that are of interest to them.

Mocktails & Mingle is a great chance for you to learn and practice your networking skills in a low-stakes and fun environment. Join local alumni and professionals for the opportunity to ask any questions you may have about their education and career paths. At this event, you will have the opportunity to: 

  • Grow your network in career pathways of interest to you
  • Get career advice from professionals
  • Practice your networking skills 
  • Connect with helpful on-campus resources

Mocktails & Mingle events are successful because of local KU alumni and professionals, just like you! Networkers support students by allowing them the opportunity to practice their networking skills in a low-stakes and fun environment.

As a networker, you can:

  • Grow students confidence with networking by helping them practice in a safe and low-stress environment with alumni and working professionals.
  • Share your unique education and career path with students who are exploring a variety of career pathways.
  • Help students grow their professional network by exchanging contacts, including email, LinkedIn, business cards, etc.  
  • Build relationships with other local alumni, area working professionals and current KU students
  • Introduce a student to your organization or department for the first time

We invite you to join us in supporting students in their career exploration and discovery by helping them practice their networking skills in a safe and comfortable environment.

We are thrilled to announce the newly developed Mocktails and Mingle Partner Program. This program engages Campus Departments and Student Organization Leadership for promotion and outreach

As a partner, Campus Departments and Student Organizations will:

  • Promote selected Mocktails and Mingle event to your students or organization members with provided text and graphics
  • Send at least one representative to participate as a Networker
  • Share with your local network of working professionals and alumni to recruit Networkers, based on industry, if applicable. Text and graphics will be provided for easy communication
  • Incentivize student attendance, if possible

Mocktails & Mingle Partners will receive:

  • Recognition as “Program Partner” on select marketing and promotion
  • Resource tabling space during event to promote your department and programs
  • Recognition during the event
  • End-of-year Program Partner party
